Diane Newby serves as the National Charter Schools Performance and Development Institute resident scholar. She is professor of Teacher Education and Professional Development at Central Michigan University. Dr Newby teaches elementary and middle level social studies methods and educational technology. She has served as an elementary school teacher for grades 4 through 8, and as an elementary school principal for Waverly (Lansing) and Mt. Pleasant School Districts.
